The Ballston Terminal Railroad

Eastern New York Railroad

The Kaydeross Electric Railroad

The Ballston Terminal Railroad was an electric railroad that was much more than a typical trolley line. The line ran 11 miles from the Village Of Ballston Spa, New York to the sleepy hamlet of Middle Grove. It's bread and butter was to serve the industries along the Kaydeross Creek, but she also carried passengers and brought schoolchildren to class from places not to convenient for a simple walk. The original company went bankrupt in 1904 and changed her name to the Eastern New York Railroad. The owners at the time had plans for serious expansion, but this never materialized. In 1918 the ENYK went out of business and was revived by the mill-owners who depended on the line. The new company called itself the Kaydeross Electric Railroad and lasted another 11 years.
